18th IUAES World Congress in Brazil
Dear Colleague
We sincerely greet you.
It is our special pleasure to invite you to propose a panel for the 18th IUAES (International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences) World Congress that will take place between July 16th and 20th, 2018 at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in the city of Florianópolis, Brazil. Held every five years, the last congress took place in Manchester in 2013. This will be the first world congress to be held in South America since the first IUAES meeting in London in 1934.
The proposals for panels at the event are open from now to October 31st 2017. According to the IUAES tradition, a panel allows anthropologists from different countries to meet around a thematic proposal made by at least two convenors linked to two different institutions.
The panels can be proposed in two modalities:
a) Closed panels composed by a small group of at least 3 and a maximum of 4 researchers previously defined from at least two different countries that will present and debate on a certain topic.
b) Open panels proposed by researchers of at least two different countries open to submission of papers of other researchers interested in the same thematic. Once they are approved, the registration period for the researchers interested in participating in the panels will be open. The researchers will have until the 28th February, 2018, to submit their proposals. The responsibility of selecting papers is the convenors of the panels. Each session must have at least three and a maximum of four papers, and it is up to the convenors to propose the number of session they consider necessary for the inclusion of proposed panels.
Besides inviting you to propose a panel, we ask for your help promoting the event in your social network.
Sincerely,
Miriam Grossi -
General coordinatorship of the 18th IUAES World Congress.
